Meditation, as is fairly common knowledge, serves the therapeutic purpose of simply relaxing your body and mind, as well as reducing stress and anxiety levels. Now, by listening to standard BWS tones at very low volume, which encourage increased interaction between the two hemi-spheres of the brain, it is possible to gain an immediate and enjoyable experience - a trance-like state of meditative relaxation that arises effortlessly - and so come to reap the many benefits with ease. One may also choose to have these tones embedded within sounds of nature.
Then, a second of many stages begins.
After a certain time - perhaps 100 to 150 hours of listening-meditating, which will take several months for most people - the initial “pleasant feeling” created with the BWS wears thin, or you may start finding it getting boring, or not as effective as when you started. These are the indications that the two hemispheres of your brain have completed the initial level of synchronisation or inter-communication. So you are now ready to move to a deeper level of integration by varying the BWS settings. By this progressive changing of the BWS parameters, you also regain the “feel good” experience and discover that your meditation is steadily deepening - that your inner being is becoming more in touch with everything.
